Happy Halloween!

Safety on Halloween
Tips for Parents

1. Go only to well-lit houses and remain on porches rather than entering houses.
2. Travel in small groups and make sure small children are accompanied by an adult at all times.
3.Carry a cell phone ready to dial 911 in case of an emergency, like if a child gets lost.
4. Have your child's full names and phone number attached to their costumes somewhere if they are too young to remember them.
5. Bring treats home before eating them so you can inspect them before letting your child eat any of it.
6. Use costume knives and swords that are flexible, not rigid or sharp that could harm another person.
7. Supervise the outing for children under age 12.
8. Establish a curfew (a return time) for older children.
9. Prepare homes for trick-or-treaters by clearing porches, lawns, and sidewalks and by placing jack-o-lanterns away from doorways and landings.
10. Avoid giving choking hazards such as gum, peanuts, hard candies, or small toys as treats to young children.

I hope everyone has a safe and fun Halloween!

Birthday Bash

I had an awesome time at our Masquerade Party thank you to all of our friends and family who attended!
As I told you guys I had the brilliant idea of volunteering on making the cake, not only did I do that but once I started baking the caked I decided to do a 3 tier cake(small cake) chocolate, vanilla, strawberry. But as I started baking I noticed I did not give myself enough time for the breads to cool off. I made the fondant, iced the cakes and when it was time to wrap the cakes the fondant started breaking! :( At that time I started panicking and I almost ran to the store to buy a cake, but I had already invested a lot of money and time! I had to finish the cake since everyone was expecting a homemade cake. I continued, I got frustrated to the point where I wanted to cry. I fixed the cracks, and continued to work on the cake. Eventually I wrapped the tiny top tier and started adding the stars I had cut out. I was not impressed with my work, but i finished the cake and definitely learned from my mistakes! The cake tasted really good, got a lot of compliments but I will definitely give myself more time when I decide to bake again.

What I did give myself  enough time for was to buy the perfect decorations for the party! Luckily  for me that was very easy because I found everything under one roof at my favorite party supply store. Arne's is a two story party supply store, organized by themes, occasion, and/or season. Reasonable prices and friendly staff always there to help you. Thanks to Arne's and their great variety of decorations and party favor, our birthday bash was a succes! Enough of that, here are some pics see for yourself.

My Birthday!... Our birthday!!

My birthday is today, my husband's birthday was Oct 8 and one my best friend's birthday was Oct 10. Every year we wonder how we will celebrate our special day. Well, this year we decided to host a Masquerade Party and celebrate our birthdays together! I am in charge of the cake which I will be making from scratch(wish me luck we are expecting about 40 guests)and the decorations, bestie is in charge of food and hubby of the music. We decided that there is no better way to celebrate the big day than with the people we love, our familia! Enough of that, stay tuned for the turnout of the party, the cake, decorations and my favorite party supply store. Until then...

Happy 24th Birthday to me!
