This year as every other year I make a list of resolutions I would like to accomplish by the end of the year. I try to discipline myself and not abandon those resolutions halfway through the year. I am usually very good at keeping my word and achieving my resolutions. But I must admit there is one resolution I seem to keep setting every year and I abandon a couple of months after I start... LOSE WEIGHT! This year it's different. This year I did not set a resolution to lose weight, a set a resolution to live a healthier life. Every day I'm trying to make educated decisions and taking steps to live a healthier life. From reading nutrition facts on labels at the grocery store, to taking 5 flights of stairs every opportunity I get at work, to staying active(exercising) at least 4 times a week.
I have found my new favorite hobby, running. Every day(even if it's COLD outside!) I rush home from work, throw on my favorite pair of joga pants and hoodie and I run 3-4 miles. I truly enjoying and look forward to this part of my day, it's the part of the day for ME time. It helps me clear my head and between my healthier diet and daily jogs I have lost 10lbs so far this month!!! I, like many other woman have that pair of jeans in the back of my closet that I would like to fit back into. But this year I am doing things differently to keep the weight off and stay in that sexy pair of jeans! ;)
The journey at times its not easy, but it's well worth it... & I must say I'm one lucky girl to be surrounded by friends that share the journey with me. One of them is my sister in law head over to http://www.independentmami.com/ to learn more about her and her "New Year's Challenge!"
Stay tuned... until next time!
